Qualitative Research Methodologies in Psychology

The course Qualitative Research Methodologies in Psychology, 7,5 credit, is offered as a third-cycle optional methodological course at the Department of Psychology, Lund University.

Course information

The course offers an overview of methodologies used in qualitative research in Psychology including their philosophical assumptions, applications, and other important issues related to qualitative research. The participant is further encouraged to specialize in relevant literature and issues that have a particular value in relation to the participant’s doctoral research. This involves independently locating readings as well as identifying and critically discussing a particular problem or project relevant to qualitative research in psychology. The course consists of lectures and compulsory seminars. Most seminars are led by the participants taking part in the course.

The course is open to PhD-candidates in Psychology from other universities as far as space allows.
