Duties of the department
First, second, and third cycle education
The department provides an extensive range of courses and programmes, including freestanding courses, the programmes in behavioural science and in human resource development and labour relations, the programmes in psychology and in psychotherapy, and the PhD programme.
Research
Research at the department is conducted with the help of direct government funding and external grants, and using the time allocated to teaching staff for research and professional development. All researchers and teaching staff belong to at least one unit or network.
External engagement
Through our contact with the media, contract education, alumni activities, internships for students, personal initiatives by our teaching staff, collaborations with municipalities, healthcare providers, and business, we help disseminate knowledge and methods that are based on research in psychology.
Psychotherapy Clinic
The department has a psychotherapy clinic, located in Building O, where prospective psychologists work as therapists and offer psychotherapy at low cost. The therapists are supervised by registered psychotherapists who have received supervisor training.
